Hong Kong Philharmonic: Commission award

Angus Lee has been awarded the commission award as part of HK Phil’s The Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation Hong Kong Composers Scheme. 

Lee’s work for the Scheme, Des flammes…, was premiered by the HK Phil under conductor Jung-ho Pak on 25th May 2024 at West Kowloon District’s Freespace. The concert in which the premiere took place also saw the premiere of five other works by selected composers of the scheme, including Owen Ho, Matthew Lam, TIffany Leung, Michael So, and Bonnie Zheng.

Lee’s new commissioned work for the Philharmonic, … aux cendres, will receive its world premiere at the “Swire Maestro Series: Elim Chan & James Ehnes” concert on 22 & 23 November 2024.
